1. Editor’s Pick: Garden At Home by Max20

Max20 is probably one of my favorite creators and this Garden At Home pack is NO exception. Seriously, it’s so dang cute! Honestly, I don’t hate that the promo images of this Maxis match are in a bold pink.

With this set you get:

  • Plants like hydrangeas, lilies and tulips
  • Decorative items like a wheel barrow and a bird bath
  • Working objects like a cute swing chair and a small garden lamp
  • Terrain like fallen leaves and clover grass

This is a really gorgeous, full garden set – I particularly enjoy the funky gate (that IS functional) that comes with it. It’s the perfect one to fully develop your sim’s outdoor area.

All items from the Moonwood Garden custom content collection by Myshunosun.

2. Moonwood Garden by Myshunosun

The Moonwood Garden set is slightly smaller (with only 13 items) but it definitely covers all of your gardening needs.

This set comes with a more minimalistic version of the flower arranging table (though you’ll need the Seasons EP for it to function), new garden beds, a nice shelf and some decorative plant items. I really like the decorative potted plants that come in the stacked shelves.

This is a great set to download if you’re looking for some cute garden clutter to spice up your home.

3. Garden Sign Collection by Caigel

Do you ever plant something and totally forget what it is? I do it ALL the time (in the Sims and IRL), which is why this Garden Sign Collection is must-have. These are great for marketing what you’ve placed and where so you can keep a cute, tiny garden going in-game.

Like other items in-game, these items can be sized up or down so you can make a real custom garden. You only need the base game for these bad boys to work, however there are additional signs for the different packs – so your expansion plants won’t be left out!

24. Plastic Garden Chair by Kliekie

Everyone NEEDS a classic plastic garden chair.

While it’s not the most gorgeous piece of furniture you can get your hands on, it is very practical if you’re going to be building a trailer park, long-stay motel or even a classic suburban house.

It’s actually kind of a shock that these aren’t already included in the game.

Custom Harvestable Plants

There are SO MANY custom harvestable plants available for you to download, with that in mind I’m only going to include a small collection of items you can use. If you like to play simple living style where you need to have items on-hand to cook, these are perfect for adding essence to your custom dishes:

25. Harvestable Sugarcane by Icemunmun

If you want to add a little more homestead to your game, consider growing some harvestable sugarcane. You can find it in Buy Mode and get it in seed packets as well. It’s tagged as a herb, so it can be eaten raw or added to any recipe that calls for a herb. It grows in spring, summer and fall.

27. Harvestable Artichoke by BrazenLotus

If you want to add a new vegetable harvestable to your game, this Artichoke is for you. It adds a new “vegetable” ingredient to your game, and something you can garden.

This plant has a few great benefits, including adding nutrients to soil helping your nearby plants evolve faster. However, it needs more water than other plants so you’ll need to stay on it to make sure it doesn’t dry out. For those that like to collect insects, the Artichoke attracts Jewel Beetles.

I LOVE plants like Lavender – I honestly tried to grow some IRL but it didn’t make it 💔.

This custom harvestable can be planted, harvested and used in recipes. It will keep nearby bees happy and attracts Monarch butterflies to your garden. This flower also can provide a tiny boost of inspiration when your sim uses it in a flower arrangement.

Note: You need BrazenLotus’ core harvestables downloaded for this to work properly.

31. No Fig Deal Garden Care System by Ravasheen

If gardening is your main source of income in the Sims 4 and you want to take a day off, your could 100% lose your garden (seriously, things go downhill SO fast), that’s where the No Fig Dead Garden Care System comes in.

This mini mod is base game compatible and helps you set up and customize a system to fertilize, water, spray and weed your harvestables WITHOUT you having to do it.

The control system allows you to customize each of your “tenders” and your garden tenders come in different sizes so you can set up the perfect system for your garden.

This mod is particularly helpful if you’re trying to run a homestead where you have plants AND animals to care for.

32. Gardening Event by Caradriel

This little Gardening Event requires both the Eco Lifestyle and Seasons EPs to work, and is perfect for getting help on your garden from other sims in the neighbourhood.

Your sim will need to gardening skill for ALL the even objectives to be available. This event works like other events in the game where you have objectives to fill.

A screenshot of the farmer trait in action. A sim is performing farm actions and they have a happy moodlet because of it.

33. Farmer Trait by KiaraSims4Mods

Adding custom traits can make your game a little more customized, and the Farmer Trait by KiaraSims4Mods is no exception. This is a trait I often assign to my own sims because I LOVE spending hours on homesteading gameplay.

This is a very simple trait that can be given to any sim that’s aged young adult to elder, and it essentially gives you positive moodlets for performing famring-related tasks like fishing, woodworking and gardening. It also adds farm-focused whims to your gameplay too.

If you’re looking to fully immerse yourself in the farm life, this is a must-have mod.

34. Autonomous Gardening by LittleMissSam

I realize the point of The Sims 4 is to control your sim, but sometimes you have better things to do – that’s where Autonomous Gardening comes in.

With it, your sims… autonomously garden, so you don’t have to tell them to do it all the time.

Have you ever noticed it takes sims an abnormally long time to do anything? Should it really take an hour to plant 5 carrots? Probably not.

But alas, it does – which is why you need the Faster Gardening Mod. It’s simple, it’s easy to use, and it gives your sim back valuable time.

Final Thoughts: Sims 4 Gardening CC and Mods

If you like gardening as much as I do, these cc and mod options are perfect for you.

Mods like No Fig Deal and the Homesteading Aspiration can help add a tiny bit of fun to your game, while still maintaining the difficulty you need to keep it still interesting. I’m also interested in the different custom harvestables that you can add to your collection.

Gardening is one of the BEST ways for your sims to make money, these gardening mods and can help you do it better.
