15 Sims 4 Braids CC Downloads
Looking for some stellar Sims 4 braids cc downloads to spice up your sim’s style?
While the base game and packs do contain braided styles, there aren’t THAT many, certainly not enough to cover the vast variety we have IRL. With that in mind, I decided to comb through my favorite cc hair stylists and find some great braids that you can add to your game.
From country chic loose French braids to tight, stylish waved braids, there’s truly something on this list for everyone. If you’re ready to fill up your mods folder with some Sims 4 braids cc, I’ve got PLENTY for you to check out:
Best Sims 4 CC Braid Hairstyles
1. Braids Collection by Sheabuttyr
If you want an all-in-one option instead of downloading a bunch of individual items, then Sheabuttyr’s Braids Collection is for you.
This download features 41 hairs, each of which are a slightly modified (AKA revamped) version of old meshes. If you’ve previously downloaded braid hair by this creator you’ll want to double-check that you don’t have the old versions in your Mods folder BEFORE you start playing.
With these hairs you get 24 Maxis match swatches, along with 7 from the creator’s collection. And, a word of warning, some of these items have a high poly count, so make sure you’re running on a coputer that can handle them!
2. Morgan Hair by Oydis
For an ethereal pick, I love the Morgan Hair.
This is a gorgeous, long mesh braid that can be perfectly paired with a forma dress for the Starlight Accolades. This hair is side-parted with a LONG braid that either drops down the back or comes over the shoulder (both versions are included in the download).
You can put this hair on any female sim that’s aged teen to elder, and it features 36 color swatches in total (this includes all 24 EA colors and 12 extra from the creator’s collection). I truly love this style.
3. Penisha Ponytails by Sheabuttyr
For a little more depth and edge we have the Penisha Ponytails.
This hair is wildly detailed and I totally love it. It’s base game compatible and features a pony tail on each side that has braids flowing out of it, along with two waved front pieces. You get two versions when you download this hair, unfortunately neither are hat compatible (but both are SO cute).
This custom braid style features 24 Maxis match swatches along with 7 of the creator’s other swatch picks.
4. Bethany Braids by Dogsill
The Bethany Braids style is a must-have if you’re looking for a sharp, traditional braided pattern.
This style is base game compatible and features all 24 EA swatches. The top of the head features very tight braids that are pulled back into a ponytail and are draped over the shoulder.
I love this pick because of the versatility. Whether you need something sporty for yoga time or classy for a dress-up even, this is the pick for you.
5. Jackie Hair by Aladdin-The-Simmer
The Jackie Hair download features long, straight, tight braids with braided bangs. It has an edgy appeal to me, and I kind of love it for that.
This style is base game compatible AND works with hats. You get all 24 EA matching swatches, which means it’ll blend nicely into your game.
As a fun little bonus, you also get 2 Ombre accessories that you’ll find in the “face paint” sections if you want to add a little more dimension. It’s a GORGEOUS hair for Black sims.
6. Juniper Braid Set by Nolan-Sims
For a classic, country-esque look and feel that features four different versions (with bang and strand options) there’s the Juniper Braid Set.
I really love this cute braid set, I think it pairs fantastically with a cottagecore style dress. Each of the hairs are base game compatible, tagged for female sims and comes in the standard EA 24 swatch palette. As a bonus though, you also get a few of the creator’s other color options as well.
The loose braids with cute bangs is a really cute look!
7. Sybil Hairstyle by Simstrouble
For a long, messy-looking braid, I recommend you take a peek at the Sybil Hairstyle.
I love the loose long bang-style waves that frame the face with this look. This base game compatible hairstyle comes with the standard 24 EA swatches. You also get a hair tie overlay (found in the nose ring category) and a soft highlights accent (found in face paints).
While this hair is designed for female sims, it can also be used for male sims too!
8. Playground Hair by Miiko
For long, behind-the-back braids, Playground Hair is for you. This Maxis Match hair is inspired by Jinx from Arcane.
This base game compatible hair comes with 24 EA swatches to match the rest of your game’s content, but there are 15 bonus swatches that you can download separately.
I particularly like the side-framing bang pieces included. However, it’s also great that it includes a download able kids version if this feels like a hairstyle you want to use on younger sims too!
8. Braelynn Braid Bun by Sheabuttyr
If you want to combine braids and an updo, the Braelynn Braid Bun is for you.
This style is base game compatible and does work with a hat (you just won’t see the bun while you’ve got your hat on). You get 24 Maxis match swatches, along with 7 Mod Max swatches (provided by the creator).
I think this is a really great hairstyle pick for everyday looks, match it with a cute outfit and you’re good to go.
10. Amara Braid by Ice-CreamForBreakfast
The Amara Braid is a tad bit less conventional. It features a thick, textured braid that drops down your back.
The top of the hairstyle features a center part with a tight pull, and the braid is gorgeous and bulky – ultimately I really love this look.
11. Ye-Jun Braid by Ice-CreamForBreakfast
The Ye-Jun Braid hairstyle features braids on braids with two smaller braids fed into a larger French braid style hairdo.
This is a very clean, elegant style that’s perfect to pair with an everyday outfit or a formal dress.
12. Tauriel Braids by Heartspice
The Tauriel Braids is a gorgeous, complex style that I think fits perfectly for a college-aged sim.
You get a pile braid at the top with two loose face-framing pieces, along with a low ponytail to tie it all together.
With this download you get 28 color swatches and you NEED to download the mesh too!
13. Phoebe Hairstyle by Simstrouble
The Phoebe Hairstyle has a cozy Christmas vibe for me, likely because of the sweater and bold red ties. But regardless of what season your sim will wear it in, it’s truly a hella cute style that will (figuratively) turn heads.
This base game compatible hair comes in 4 different variations (with and without loose front pieces) and I honestly love them all.
They come in the standard 24 EA swatches and have a removable bow acessory that can be found in the hat category. While this style was created for female sims it can also be worn on masculine frames too.
14. Mckayla Hair by Heartspice
If you want a cute, bookish hairstyle, the Makayla hair is for you.
Inspired by Mckayla Hooper from Tragedy Girls, this style is a modified version of the braids that come with Snowy Escape but they’re totally base game compatible. They feature loose curled front pieces with a large loose braid behind the shoulder of each side.
These braids wear well with hats and come with a standard 18 EA swatches along with 28 add-on colors from the historical palette made by SerindipitySims.
15. Sadie Hairstyle by Simstrouble
I LOVE all of the braids on this list, but the Sadie Hairstyle represents a braid style I would wear IRL (if my hair was a tad bit longer). I love the loose top hair with the large braid that’s tied with an ADORABLE bow (which is found in the hat category).
This custom hairstyle is base game compatible and features the 24 basic EA swatches. It’s truly a gorgeous spring pick that I recommend pairing with a few pastels and a gorgeous cardigan.
Final Thoughts: Sims 4 Braids CC
While both the Sims 4 base game and expansions do feature some braided styles, it’s worth nothing that they’re limited. While you could keep purchasing packs in hopes that it’ll add more options for each new, wouldn’t it be much better to get your picks for FREE?
That’s where these custom content prices come in. While I like all the of items on the list, pieces like the Sadie style really speaks to me. Pair these hairstyles with your favorite country look and you’re ready to take on the world!
